Some of the topics included wheat, corn, soybeans, pizza, pumpkins, candy, cattle, soil, farm safety, water erosion, and Earth Day. For Farm City Week last year, Reno Farm Bureau donated a new book, “Celebrate Wheat” to all nine Reno County libraries and several local doctor/dental offices, the clinic, and hospital. The book was written by Dan Yunk and published by the Kansas Farm Bureau. The book is available for purchase at www.kfb.org.
Text Box: FARM-CITY WEEK, NOV 19-25, 2010 Text Box: FOOD CHECK-OUT WEEK, FEB 20-26, 2011 Text Box: On February 24, from 4-6 pm, Reno Farm Bureau celebrated “Food Check-Out Week” at the Dillon’s on 30th Street. Customers had a chance to play a game to determine which country has the most affordable groceries. (It’s the U.S.A. of course!) Then they could enter a drawing for a $50 Dillon’s gift certificate. Doris Schmidt, from Hutchinson was the winner.
