Text Box: This past school year (2010-2011), we gave 25 agricultural-related classroom presentations in four Reno County schools, reaching over 100 students! Some of the topics included wheat, corn, soybeans, pizza, pumpkins, candy, cattle, soil, farm safety, water erosion, and Earth Day.

For Farm City Week last year, Reno Farm Bureau donated a new book, “Celebrate Wheat” to all nine Reno County libraries and several local doctor/dental offices, the clinic, and hospital. The book was written by Dan Yunk and published by the Kansas Farm Bureau. The book is available for purchase at www.kfb.org.

Text Box: On February 24, from 4-6 pm, Reno Farm Bureau celebrated “Food Check-Out Week” at the Dillon’s on 30th Street. Customers had a chance to play a game to determine which country has the most affordable groceries. (It’s the U.S.A. of course!) Then they could enter a drawing for a $50 Dillon’s gift certificate. Doris Schmidt, from Hutchinson was the winner.
