Students were taught more about agriculture and the 4 F’s of farming (food, fiber, fuel, and pharmaceuticals) while visiting 8 different stations. Reno County Farm Bureau would like to recognize the following farm for being in the same family for over 100 years! Congratulations to the Swanson Brothers Farm, located near Hutchinson, which has been in their family since 1868. The original 80 acres were purchased from the railroad as a homestead by John Swanson. John was a grandfather to the three brothers, John, Donald, and Harold Swanson.
Text Box: Annual Dues increase begins October 2011

The annual dues for membership in the Reno County Farm Bureau Association will increase by $10.00, beginning October 1, 2011. A special meeting was held on March 28, 2011, where changes in the by-laws were approved to reflect any increase in dues from  Kansas Farm Bureau. Out of the $45 annual dues, Reno County Farm Bureau will retain $17 and send $28 on to Kansas Farm Bureau Inc. and the American Farm Bureau Federation.
